Organization of the academic process

The “Regulations on the organization of the academic process at Universities in Poland” is a document that regulates the organization and implementation of the educational process at Universities in Poland.

Provisions

The academic process is an intellectual and creative activity in the field of higher education and science, which takes place at the University through a system of scientific, methodological and educational activities and is aimed at transfer, mastery, multiplication and the use of knowledge, skills and other competencies of learners, as well as on the formation of a harmoniously developed personality.

The University’s educational activities aim to:

  • Creation of conditions for personal development and creative self-realization of a person;
  • Formation of national and universal values;
  • Create equal opportunities for young people to obtain quality education;
  • Preparation for life and work in modern conditions;
  • Development and implementation of innovative educational technologies;
  • Democratization of education and the educational process;
  • Development of lifelong learning;
  • Integration of Polish education into the European and global space;
  • Providing social protection to students, scientific and educational workers;
  • Responsible attitude towards one’s own health and environmental protection;
  • Creation of the most favorable conditions for the life of society.

The educational process is organized on the principles of science, humanism, democracy, continuity and independence from the influence of any political party or public and religious organization.

The training of specialists at the University is carried out gradually or continuously according to the educational qualification levels “Bachelor”, “Master”, “Doctor of Science”, “Doctor of Philosophy” and “MBBS” depending on the level of accreditation .

The educational process is carried out by educational units:

  • College
  • Institutes
  • The faculties
  • Departments,
  • Clinical centers,
  • University clinics,
  • University hospitals,
  • Clinical hospitals, etc.

In order to carry out the educational process, in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the University, educational and scientific institutes, complexes, training and production divisions of professional training, laboratories, training centers and d Other specialized complexes can be created in accordance with current legislation.

The training of foreign citizens is organized by the University departments (centers, faculties, etc.), which are responsible for the training of foreign students.

The activities of educational units are regulated by the Regulations approved in accordance with the procedure established after consideration by the Academic Council of the University.

The rector (prorector) and heads of educational departments (heads of departments, heads of educational, educational-methodical, information-analytical departments, etc.) are responsible for the quality of the educational process at the University.

The University provides scientific and educational workers and students with educational means (pedagogical, methodological, scientific, technical and other means) in accordance with their material and financial capabilities.

The language of study at the University is determined by Polish legislation.
The Regulations on the organization of the educational process are approved by the Academic Council of the University in accordance with the law.

Academic Process

The terms of study in the appropriate forms are determined by the possibilities of implementing the educational and professional training program for specialists of a certain level of pedagogical qualification and higher education standards. The organization of the educational process is carried out at the University in accordance with the standards of higher education and this Statute.

Visits to training sessions (courses, practical work, seminar) for students are obligatory. In case of absence, the student must work during his free time. The department must, no later than 3 months before the start of the academic year, submit to the education and training service a work program on the discipline, a set of individual tasks (if they are planned), and tasks control for the final disciplinary check.

Conference. Preference is given to problematic lectures, critiques and conceptual analyses. The lecture becomes a process during which students develop knowledge, provide a motivational component and a general stage of mastering scientific knowledge.

As a rule, a separate course is an element of the lecture course, covering the essential theoretical material of one or more subjects of the discipline. The subject of the lessons is determined by the work program of the discipline.

Classes are taught by scientific and pedagogical workers, as a rule, by professors, associate professors and lecturers. Graduate assistants may be asked to teach individual courses. The department must maintain outlines and theses for all courses.

A practical lesson is a form of training session during which the teacher organizes a detailed examination by students of the theoretical positions of a particular subject of the discipline and forms the skills and skills of their practical application by individually performing the students according to the formulated tasks.

Practical classes take place in specially equipped training rooms, laboratories, operating rooms, changing rooms and rooms near the patient’s bed (at the patient’s bed, the number of students does not exceed 5 people) .

The list of subjects of practical lessons is determined by the work program of the discipline. The schedule of practical courses is established by the department for each semester and is approved by the dean of the faculty.

For conducting practical classes, the department creates methodological developments for teachers and methodical instructions for students on preparation and work in practical classes (other methodological documents can be developed).

When studying basic disciplines in 4-6 years (internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology), at each practical course, 80% of lesson hours must be taught independently under the supervision of a teacher .

A seminar lesson is a kind of training session during which a scientific and pedagogical worker organizes a discussion of predefined problems on a specific topic. The list of seminar topics is determined by the discipline program.

Laboratory training is a form of study in which a student, under the guidance of a teacher, personally conducts physical and simulation experiments or experiments with the aim of practically confirming certain theoretical positions of this discipline, and acquires practical skills in work. with medical and biological preparations, laboratory equipment, equipment, computer technology, computer programs, measuring equipment, methods of experimental research in a particular area.

Laboratory classes take place in specially equipped training laboratories. The list of subjects of laboratory lessons is determined by the work program of the discipline.

An individual training session is a form of training carried out among individual students in order to increase their level of preparation and disclosure of individual creative abilities, or due to the need to work on a number of lessons missed for some reason valid. Individual training courses are organized according to a separate schedule approved by the dean and agreed with the head of the department, taking into account the student’s individual project, and may cover all or part of the studies of a discipline and, in certain cases, the the total amount of training for a specific educational qualification level is the subject of a separate order of the rector on the proposal of the dean for a particular student.

The types of individual tasks for certain academic disciplines are determined by a program of work in the discipline. The terms of issue, execution and execution of individual tasks are determined by the schedule developed by the department for each semester. Individual tasks are performed by students independently with obtaining the necessary consultations by a scientific and pedagogical worker.

Practice is a required component of a special education program. The purpose of practice is the acquisition of professional skills and abilities of students for their further use in real production conditions, education needs to systematically renew their knowledge and creatively apply it in practice. Practice is carried out in accordance with existing programs and the Practice Regulations in the terms provided for by the course. Practice ensures continuity and consistency of its implementation when obtaining the required amount of knowledge and practical skills in accordance with different levels of educational qualification. It can be industrial or pre-degree.

The content and course of practice are determined by the practice programs developed by the relevant departments, the department of industrial practice, the educational department of the university and the central methodological cabinet for higher education of the Ministry of Health of Poland.
